Help One Now is excited to announce the newest trip in our Love Hope series, Love Hope Ethiopia.
Our Love Hope Trips serve as storytelling and humanitarian vision trips, helping to highlight, promote, and increase the work being done through Help One Now’s support of our local leaders. Our original Love Hope in 2014 lead to over 300 sponsorships in Gunchire, Ethiopia, and in 2015, Love Hope Haiti celebrated the amazing work being done by our local leaders in Haiti by raising awareness and additional financial support.
Love Hope Ethiopia will focus its efforts on Empowering Families in Wolaita Sodo, Ethiopia. Strong families are the foundation of strong communities. Strong families can prevent poverty orphans. Strong families fight trafficking and abuse. Strong families promote physical, mental, and spiritual health. Strong families boost local economies. Strong families provide HOPE for a better tomorrow.
These local families are on the brink of disruption — not for lack of love, but because they lack resources. Our Family Empowerment program, lead and managed by Aschalew Abebe and his team, helps parents increase their capacity not just to provide for their families, but to thrive! Through situation-specific training, as well as the provision of resources ranging from a milking cow or other farm animals to equipment for small entrepreneurial opportunities like beauty salons or family bakeries, these families are taught how to succeed.
Follow our travelers – authors, speakers, pastors, and bloggers Jen and Brandon Hatmaker, podcaster and blogger Jamie Ivey, blogger and author Rachel Hollis, and JD Scott, host of HGTV Insider, who join Help One Now’s Chris Marlow to visit the community of Wolaita Sodo to learn and see HOPE continue. Our goal for this trip is to raise awareness of the outstanding work done by Aschalew, and to empower 300 families in Wolaita Sodo over the next 5 years. This will directly impact 1,500 lives, while the ripple effect will impact countless other individuals in and around the community.
To experience the journey in real time, follow us with the hashtag #LoveHopeEthiopia on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and be watching for your opportunity to help 300 families in Wolaita Sodo.
