Chris Marlow
Founder/CEO
Chris Marlow is the founder and CEO of Help One Now. In 2007, Chris visited Zimbabwe and was compelled to start Help One Now and dedicate his life to seeking justice by empowering leaders and organizing a wide table of people to do good together. Chris is a skilled team builder, author, and speaker and has built a movement around the ideas of supporting local leaders and empowering families through entrepreneurship and education. Chris currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife Necole, youngest daughter Mackenzie, their German Shepherd Skye, and cat Cleo.
Andy Hooper
Board Chair
Andy Hooper is the CEO, Board Member, and Founding Partner of Hart House. Hart House is a plant-based quick-service restaurant chain started by Kevin Hart in Los Angeles, CA. Andy joined the mission of Hart House in May of 2022 because of his knowledge and experience in leading and cultivating multiple restaurants and fast food chains around the world.
Andy holds a BBA in Marketing and Human Resources from the University of Miami Herbert Business School and a bachelor’s degree in International Business from The American University of Paris. Some of his many skills and talents include Succession Planning, Talent Management, Franchising, Personal Management, Recruiting, Team Building, Operations Management, Human Resources, and many more.
Michael Eady
Board Member
Michael Eady is a co-founder and serves as President of Knight Eady. He leads all teams in conceptualizing, filtering, and forming innovative business ideas to service clients through events, strategy, and creativity. He works to ensure Knight Eady is always thinking ahead into the future by challenging the Knight Eady team to redefine how they curate remarkable creative campaigns and brand experiences. Michael has over nine years of experience in the advertising, sports, and entertainment industries. He is an active member of the board of the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama (HICA) and the Homewood City Schools Foundation. While not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, playing golf, and traveling with his family.
Kayla Glasgow
Board Member
Kayla Glasgow is a finance leader with nearly 20 years of experience, spanning the consumer products, entertainment & media, and technology industries. Kayla’s primary expertise lies in the financial planning & analysis function, focused on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and analytics to support decision-making at public, multi-national organizations. She has held prior roles supporting finance systems & governance, internal audit, corporate strategy, and procurement throughout her career.
Kayla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University, College Station, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin. She has been a part of the Help One Now community in both formal and informal capacities since the organization’s founding in 2007.
Dr. Melanie Walker
Board Member
Dr. Melanie Walker was born in Anaheim, California, and moved to Raleigh during her high school years. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Psychology, Public Health and Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She and her husband, Franklin, moved back to Raleigh in 2000. Before joining Pediatric Partners in 2008, she practiced at Raleigh Children and Adolescents Medicine for seven years.
Dr. Walker holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Maternal and Child Health from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill. She has served on multiple Committees and Chairs, including Rex Medical Staff, Rex Pediatrics, and Church on Morgan.
Amanda Whitmire
Board Member
Amanda Whitmire is a seasoned finance executive with a 20-plus-year track record of innovative leadership in both the public and not-for-profit sectors. Her extensive experience leading diverse teams in complex, global, and multi-site enterprises has solidified her reputation as a valued partner in advancing the vision of an organization. Currently, Amanda serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President at MAP International. Prior to that, she held the role of vice president of finance and controller at the Forbes top 15 not-for-profit, Compassion International. Before moving into the not-for-profit sector, she served in corporate accounting and reporting at Whole Foods Market, Inc., and in audit at the multifaceted consulting and services firm, Ernst & Young.
Amanda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Finance from Baylor University and a Master’s in Accountancy from the University of Virginia. Her expertise spans a wide spectrum of technical and operational knowledge, including organizational leadership, strategy development, financial governance and controls, process optimization, external financial reporting, regulatory compliance, risk management, systems implementations, fund/cash flow management, financial planning, and policy management.
