At Help One Now, friendship is something we hold in the highest regard. The bonds we share with our partners and teams inspire us daily, motivating us to work harder and push forward toward our common goal of creating meaningful, lasting impact—together. We’re excited to share that we’ve officially completed our first two trips of 2025 to the Dominican Republic! It was truly special to be with our partners for the first time this year, reconnecting and witnessing the impact of our shared work firsthand.
We’re also thrilled that our first trip of the year to Ethiopia is happening right now! We love following along as the team gets to see the progress being made, and continue our journey of impact alongside our incredible partners.
Highlights from Our Journey to the Dominican Republic
- School Tours & Team Connections: We had the privilege of touring local schools, getting to know the dedicated teams there, and hearing their powerful testimonies of growth and perseverance. One of the most inspiring moments was meeting past students who have returned to use their higher education skills to pour back into their community, particularly at the medical center provided by the school. Their dedication to giving back and supporting the next generation is a true testament to the impact of education and community investment.
- Community Engagement: We attended beautiful church services, visited the water project making a real difference in daily lives, and spent time with families in the Family Business Program—from those who’ve been part of it for years to new entrepreneurs who just launched their businesses within the past few months.
- Exploring Natural Beauty: Beyond our projects, we also had the chance to immerse ourselves in the breathtaking natural beauty and rich history of the country.
A Strong Start to 2025
This year is already shaping up to be one of our most impactful yet:
- We’ve successfully launched new businesses in the Dominican Republic, empowering more families with the tools they need to thrive. Those who have launched their businesses are filled with excitement and hope, already dreaming of where this journey could take them. Many are envisioning ways to expand their ventures and are eager to grow, reach new milestones, and create even greater opportunities for their communities.
- In February, we launched the Doing Good Is Simple Podcast—a platform dedicated to sharing inspiring stories and meaningful conversations around making a positive impact. The podcast will be a space where you can come to learn about doing good, understand the impact it can have, and discover how you can incorporate it into your own life. You’ll hear from experts who are making a difference in their own unique ways. This space allows us to continue these important conversations in our day-to-day lives, especially for those moments when we can’t gather together in person.
- Our Blog has also been revived, providing a space for deeper dives into impact stories. Our latest post focuses on Ethiopia, featuring testimonies, transformative stories, and a letter from our leader that captures our vision for the year ahead.
Looking Ahead
We’ve started this year strong, and we’re filled with anticipation for what’s to come. When you talk to any one of our partners, no matter how incredible an impact they have been able to make in their community, there are constant visions and dreams of a brighter and better future for everyone they come into contact with. They are the masters of celebrating the success of the community while also charging forward toward a future as beautiful as they can imagine it to be. We can learn so much from their dedication and passion, and we hope to always be chasing that brighter future together. From expanding our programs to sharing even more incredible stories of resilience and hope, we can’t wait to see where the journey will take us.
