There are big and beautiful things happening in our partner communities around the world! Below are some reminders of the impact of generosity and some insight into how we can best support our partners.
Impact Story | Escarlin Carolina Diaz
This month, we’d like to present one of our recent grads from the Dominican Republic, Escarlin Carolina Diaz, and share a little about her story.
Escarlin has been a student at our partner school since primary school. In her early years, she struggled with behavioral challenges, which gave us the opportunity to work with her regularly to address these specific concerns.
In the latter half of her secondary education, she overcame those challenges and excelled personally and academically. She became a distinguished student and represented her school well in academic competitions. She now works in our Early Childhood Development Program and attends a local university. Her dream is to become a lawyer and also to be able to help her family financially.
Escarlin received a scholarship from her university and is working hard to make her dreams come true. It is a joy to see students like Escarlin continue to grow and thrive. Escarlin’s mother recently reached out to us to express her gratitude for all the years the ministries have poured into and continue to guide her daughter and many of the children from the community. It brings us joy to share stories like Escarlin’s and how the work at Help One Now enriches the lives of students, families, and their communities.
Global Impact Data Highlights
Global Team Prayer Requests
Dominican Republic:
Although we still need to complete our classrooms, we have accommodated a few classes in the unfinished building. This has given us three new classrooms for previously meeting classes in the chapel/flex space. A proper learning environment is essential for student engagement, focus, and well-being. We must continue highlighting the importance of completing this project to provide sufficient, well-equipped classroom spaces for all our students. Our immediate need is to complete this three-story classroom building. This project has a total budget of $200,000 for completion.
Ethiopia:
500 vulnerable children need essential support to continue their education. Schools have opened for the New Year, and the registration process has begun. Most have limited or no resources to obtain the necessary education materials and clothing. Every little bit of support can make a big difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
Haiti:
Please keep praying for the people in Haiti as we are facing gang violence in different places in Haiti; at the same time, the government is trying its best to face the gangs in Port-Au-Prince.
More than 500 schools are closed, so many children can not go to school, and so many teachers don’t have jobs; please pray that God miraculously opens doors for people to return to their houses.
Zimbabwe:
We continue praying for Pastor John for healing, peace, and strength.
Pray for Musha Wevana kids who are writing their Grade 7 and O’level and A’ level Exams that they will be able to succeed in their education.

Earlier this month, our friends in Birmingham, Alabama invited us to an incredible opportunity to raise funds for our Haiti: Not Forgotten campaign. Through a generous donation and our amazing community using their connections, we were able to raise enough funds to fully support two classrooms in Ferrier for the next school year!
One of our dear friends and supporters helps organize a musical festival in Birmingham called Furnace Fest. This festival has brought together some of the biggest bands in the hardcore, metal, and punk rock genres over the last two decades. One of the music labels with many bands in the festival, Tooth & Nail/Solid State Records, decided to donate their collection of test-pressing vinyl records to be sold at the festival through another incredible company called Unoriginal Vinyl. They decided that they wanted the proceeds of these sales to go directly to Haiti and specifically our schools in Ferrier!
It was such a beautiful weekend of seeing the music community rally together and use their passion for music and vinyl to support our friends in Haiti. This fundraiser is a great example and reminder of how we can all use our gifts, talents, passions, and resources to do good around the world together!
