Our good friends at Austin New Church are holding a fundraiser at Dominican Joe’s in Downtown Austin for H.E.L.P. & Haiti this Saturday!

All the proceeds will go towards building a home in Haiti for at-risk kids (orphans). These kids are vulnerable and susceptible to being abused and trafficked. We feel like it’s extremely important to work on preventative measure to ensure these kids are safe and cared for by a loving community. Most of these kids live in tents, and many literally have nowhere to live — yes, they’re homeless.

We have committed to building 100 homes and drilling 25 wells for clean water in Haiti over the next few years. Of those 100 homes, 10-15 will be used as “preventative safe homes” for at-risk kids, of whom, are the kids that traffickers target. If they don’t have shelter and a loving community that will protect them, their chances of being sold into the trafficking industry increases dramatically.

We want to do something about that. H.E.L.P. is partnering with Restore Communities, Soma Austin and others to build preventive safe homes in Haiti. We’re working with some amazing Haitian partners who are “already” working with these vulnerable kids. Our goal is to assist them in the work they’re already attempting to do!

Miranda Dodson will be performing, and we will also have some amazing artists like Esther Havens, Scott Wade and others, who are donating their work to help raise money for our first home. This home will be built in the next 90-120 days in Haiti.

We’re very excited about the event and we want to invite you to come hang out and participate in renewing Haiti and caring for orphan!
