About Help One Now Trips
All Help One Now Trips are built to connect our partners and donors to the communities we serve through the building of relationships with local leaders, experiencing the beauty and adventure each country holds and participating in intentional guided times of rest and reflection. We want you to return home from these trips with a renewed heart, mind, and soul, as well as a vision and passion for how we can work together to do good around the world!
Trip Cost
$600 Per Person
Below is a rough breakdown of all trip costs, plus the work your fundraiser will support in the Dominican Republic. The total cost of your trip covers all traveling expenses, including lodging, guesthouse meals, transportation, and medical insurance. The only things not covered in this cost are your flights, restaurant meals, and personal money for things like souvenirs or any extra needs while on the trip.
This cost also covers Help One Now’s expenses in administering and leading this trip and investing in our local partners’ work as they take time out to host and care for us on our journey!

Trip Schedule
This trip will be packed full of amazing experiences! We have carefully planned the trip to make the most of your time while also building in time for rest and reflection. Your trip will be focused on building relationships with our local partners and witnessing the impact of their work first-hand. It will also include time to see and experience some of the incredible beauty, history, and culture of the Dominican Republic.
Saturday 12/7
Arrive in Santo Domingo, the capital of The Dominican Republic, around lunchtime
Lunch together at a traditional Dominican restaurant
Travel to La Vega via van
Meet local leader Rod Davis and take time to hear his story and vision
Dinner and intro to trip meeting at guesthouse. This will be a time of getting to know Help One Now and laying out expectations for the week and how we can make the most of our time together
Sunday 12/8
Breakfast and morning reflection time
Church at one of the TEARS local community churches
Lunch together with the TEARS staff and families
See the TEARS aquaponics project, medical and dental clinic, and water treatment facility. Learn about how TEARS is empowering the community through wrap-around community initiatives
Visit the TEARS Haitian ministry and hear about their work with the Haitian immigrant community
Dinner with Rod at Alta Vista lookout restaurant
Monday 12/9
Breakfast and morning reflection time
Visit TEARS schools and hear about the impact of education in the community
Depart La Vega, travel back to Santo Domingo
Free time to relax at a beautiful Caribbean beach
Dinner at Casa Hemingway Hotel, time to debrief and reflect on the trip together
Tuesday 12/10
Depart Santo Domingo in the morning
