Once again we’re heading back to Haiti. We are very excited to see our friends and partners in Haiti once again. I’m currently in the Miami airport waiting for our flight to PaP.

We have an amazing team on this trip. Friends from Remedy Church, Austin Stone, The Village Church and Austin New Church.

Also, Matthew Hansen from Restore Communities is co-leading this trip. Matthew is working for the Free Methodist Church and The RIver Conference as they seek to fight trafficking, care for orphans and plant new churches!

This trip as three aspects:

Story: Kris Rutherford will be doing some filming for the upcoming 100 homes project, more info soon.

Vision: A few of us will be meeting with local Haitian leaders so we can partner with them to combat the sex-trafficking issues in Haiti.

Construction/Orphan Care: We”re going to build a new home for a Haitian family. Not only are we building the home, we also funded the home! We will also be building the home with local Haitians. To us, this is an act of service, but to our Haitian friends, building this home means a job – yes, we’re paying these men to help us build this home and at least 100 more!

Of course we will visit Pastor St Cyr in Petionville Tent City, reconnect with Junior and discuss how to create jobs in Haiti and also spend a day with Pastor Gaetan and the 30 orphans we help care for.

It seems like forever ago that Scotty, Jacob and I visited Haiti – however, it’s only been a little over one year. I love Haiti. I love the people. I love the food. I love the coffee. I love the weather. Ok, not so much. I love seeing hope spring forth. Please pray for us as we engage this country and love these beautiful people.

You can follow us this week right here, or on the @helpendpoverty twitter account. Some team members will also be blogging, so we will post those blogs also!
