About this Fundraiser
ACLAPROTECH – The Academy for CLAssical, PROfessional, and TECHnical Studies – was founded and is managed by Pastor Jean St. Cyr. The school began on a small scale many years before the devastating earthquake in 2010. Since then, the need for affordable education became even greater as many fled for refuge to Haiti’s largest tent city. Pastor St. Cyr has built his church and Aclaprotech right beside where this vulnerable tent city once stood. The church and school work to meet the needs of those whose lives have been most affected by the earthquake.Aclaprotech is now home to 65 students, and is working to become the highest quality school in the area—as well as the most affordable!
Help One Now and Aclaprotech desire to rise to a higher level of impact through building long-term relationships, meeting social needs, and investing in quality education and job creation. The next step in our vision is to launch a meal program at Aclaprotech. The meal program will provide a hot meal every day of the school year for 65 students and 7 staff members.
Providing healthy meals in schools improves children’s health and nutritional wellbeing. In food insecure communities, school feeding programs help fight malnutrition and keep children in school. Because it is our commitment to partner with children until they are self-sufficient and break the cycle of poverty, we will do all we can to see our students continue their education to completion. Providing a healthy meal at school each day is a tangible way to meet that goal! Furthermore, by using our meal program to support local farmers and food production, we will also be empowering the families we serve through a sustainable source of income.
We want you to be part of transforming the community of Delmas, Haiti through the power of nutrition and education. The total amount we are seeking to raise for this initiative is $40,000.This will cover necessary renovations to the campus of Aclaprotech, it will sustain the school meal program for one year, and it will also provide the means to launch a small trade school at the campus. A total of 150 people will be served each year when we meet this goal!
Thank you for your partnership and compassion. We love having you in our tribe.
