I’m running 50k to raise $50,000 to empower 50 families. Join me!
Together, we’re going to raise $50,000 to empower 50 families to break the cycle of extreme poverty in their lives.
$5, $50, $500, $5,000 – give whatever you can give. Every gift matters, and every gift takes us one step closer to our goal.
Join me as I train and push the limits of my endurance by competing in a series of trail races, culminating in a 50k ultramarathon! It may be a struggle, but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by families trapped in extreme poverty.

A Struggle for Progress

Struggle is inevitable. At some point, we will fall, we will fail, we’ll get hurt, we’ll be knocked off our feet. But we’ll also get back up. We’ll lean on others, we’ll overcome and push forward…and through it, we’ll be stronger, better, smarter… we’ll even be able to help others when they struggle. When we have tools, resources, a support system, a fair starting line…we can struggle forward. We can struggle for progress. But millions of people around the world don’t have a fair starting line. They’re trapped. No matter how hard they struggle, they’re stuck in an unjust, generational cycle of extreme poverty. No access to education, no opportunities to earn a fair wage, no food security or clean water or access to medical care. No matter how hard they struggle, they’re stuck at the bottom. The starting line isn’t even in sight. It doesn’t have to be this way. There are real solutions to this problem.
As many of you know, I’m part of an organization called Help One Now. Help One Now empowers families to break the cycle of extreme poverty by investing in education, entrepreneurship and community care. We put kids in schools, unlocking their God-given potential. We help families launch businesses to sustain themselves for life. To put it simply, we can put people in a position to struggle for their own progress, and all it takes is a little boost. A little help. A little support.
I’m doing something simple this year, and I want to invite you to join me. I’m running. One foot in front of the other. One step at a time. It doesn’t get much more simple than that. I’m training to run my first ever ultramarathon. 50km on a trail. 31 miles. I’m a little nervous, but I know I’ll make it because I’m running with a purpose…and that’s where you come in.
Just like any long run, we’ll take it a step at a time, and I plan to keep you posted with regular updates along the way, here and on social media. I know there will be good days and bad days. Wins and losses. Progress and setbacks. (Even as I write this, I’m nursing my first injury). But we will make it. I will finish the race. You will give generously. And 50 families will break the cycle of generational poverty. I invite you to join me on this journey and do some good along the way. Let’s go!
