The Children’s Home. Thankfully, all the kids in a safe location prior to its collapse.

Hurricane Matthew destroyed many buildings on its path through the Caribbean. One of those was our children’s home in Drouin, where 12 kids were receiving full-time care from Pastor Gaetan’s team.

Luckily, Pastor Gaetan was with the kids when the storm struck, and he was able to get them to a safer building to ride out the storm. But, their home and belongings are lost.

Thanks to the support of the Love Hope Partners, he had the resources to bring them to Yahve Shamma when the roads were finally cleared. They will live with our other Yahve Shamma kids, and they’ll also enroll in Williamson Adrien Academy.

This is just one example of the vital role that the Love Hope Partners will play in the work of Help One Now as we construct long-term solutions in our communities as well as being able to act quickly to address emergencies if and when they arise.
