After months of construction, the new preschool at His Mercy School in Mayuge, Uganda, is OPEN!

At Help One Now, we focus on holistic community development to address all sides of the complex cycle of extreme poverty, and excellent early childhood education is an integral part of this plan.
This is why Help One Now is taking steps to provide the best possible start for the children at His Mercy School in Mayuge, Uganda through a high quality preschool program. Earlier this year, with funds provided by Central United Methodist church in Fayetteville Arkansas, Help One Now built a brand new preschool building for the 72 children that attend preschool at His Mercy. The children now have a safe and bright environment in which to learn.
The new building will be stocked with locally sourced interactive learning tools, colorful reference charts, and will have a qualified head nursery teacher. to oversee the program. In September, the teacher leadership team attended training on facilitating a child centered learning environment, and returned to share what they have learned with the teaching staff at the school.
By the end of 2016, His Mercy School will have a fully functional high quality preschool program offering every child the best opportunity to learn and grow from the very beginning. This will ultimately lead to community transformation and breaking the cycle of extreme poverty, one child at a time.
This great new school will help give the next generation of children in Mayuge a strong foundation on which to build their education.
